Thresh-Hold is a solo exhibition engaging Port Adelaide Enfield’s suburban wilds — empty lots, coastal reserves, and overgrown verges — as charged sites of colonial wake, ecological tension, and feminist histories. Exploring the root meaning of “thresh” (to separate grain, to trample) and ideas of ‘entry points’, the works examine weeds as markers of colonial wandering and contemporary ecological discord. In dialogue with local artists and communities, the exhibition presents photography-based installations with accessible tactile and interactive elements. Drawing on Sara Ahmed’s phenomenological orientation and decolonial critique, Thresh-Hold situates nature and human existence as inseparable, inviting viewers to re-orient their sense of place.
