With thanks to the wonderful generosity of Rain Moth Gallery, for hosting the first official SALA exhibition with 6 local female artists, celebrating the diversity of the cross-cultural melting pot that we call home. The exhibition celebrated a range of mediums, with works deeply connected with nature, exploring the land and experiences in Waikerie. The themes of the exhibition were inspired by the Poem The Plains by Banjo Paterson, with each artist interrogating their own narratives.
Land of the plenty of land of want, where the grey Companions dance, Feast or famine, or hope or fear, and in all things land of chance, Where Nature pampers or Nature slays, in her ruthless, red, romance. The Plains, Banjo Paterson |
